If I own Railworks 2 will I have to purchase Train Simulator 2012?
No, Train Simulator 2012 launches on 23 September. Upgrading is easy, we do it for you! Just make sure you are online and RailWorks 2 will be replaced with Train Simulator 2012. Make sure you backup your own creations before this date!

Will Train Simulator 2012 work on my PC system?
Yes, while Train Simulator 2012 will make use of the latest graphical technology and special effects, we have worked very hard to ensure it will continue to work on RW2’s minimum system requirements. Obviously to enjoy all the enhanced graphics you will need to have a more up to date system.

Will my old RailWorks 2 DLC (downloadable locomotives and routes) still work with Train Simulator 2012?
Yes! Any DLC you have purchased from RailSimulator.com for RailWorks or RailWorks 2 will continue to work with Train Simulator 2012. Any DLC you purchase from us up to and after the launch of Train Simulator 2012 will also be compatible. We also plan to upgrade existing DLC over time to take full advantage of the new Train Simulator 2012 technology. This programme will commence shortly after the release of Train Simulator 2012, starting with the NEC. A full schedule of DLC upgrades will be announced in due course.

Will there be a multiplayer mode in Train Simulator 2012?
Before we can implement multiplayer in TSX® technology, we need to create specific game content for multiplayer and establish a sufficiently robust server network complete with the necessary security and support. When we launch multiplay we will ensure that it is a compelling and engaging experience in a safe environment.

Are any new locomotives or routes included with Train Simulator 2012?
Yes! Train Simulator 2012 will retain all the locomotives and routes previously included with RailWorks 2, PLUS a brand new EMD F7 locomotive and a new UK locomotive to be revealed shortly. Also, we will have an amazing new route, fully optimized to show off all the new technology, this will be available bundled with every new purchase of the Train Simulator 2012 Steam Edition. Existing users will be able to buy this new route as DLC from our Steam store.

Will users be able to edit and build routes like in Railworks 2?
Yes! Train Simulator 2012 incorporates a number of new features designed especially to improve the editing and world‐building facilities, including improved asset lists, improvements to the scenario editor and faster scenery laying. However, if you have created your own routes in RW2, it is always good practice to back them up before the launch date!

Will there be DLC for Train Simulator 2012?
Yes! We will have exciting new locomotives and routes available for you to download soon after the launch of Train Simulator 2012. These will all be optimized with the new technology.

't Is het Amerikaanse spoorwegnet hè.

Schijnbaar wordt het in RailWorks 3 ook mogelijk om aan te geven wat de 'kwaliteit' van het spoor is, en in Amerika is het spoor niet zo glad en soepel als hier (Leiden - Woerden niet meegerekend

).
Dus blijkbaar is dit filmpje gemaakt op 'slecht' spoor.

Als je online gaat wordt hij automatisch geupdate, datum maakt niet uit.
Start van de update is 23 September.

RailSimulator.com announced that they are recreating the famous Pennsylvanian Horseshoe Curve for their upcoming PC simulation game, RailWorks 3: Train Simulator 2012.

Sequel to the award-winning RailWorks 2 Train Simulator, Train Simulator 2012 looks set to push the boundaries of simulation even further, and being able to drive along this famous railroad under the shadow of the Allegheny Mountains is sure to appeal to a great many users. The Horseshoe Curve will be included with all copies of Train Simulator 2012 purchased via Steam and in the deluxe boxed addition. The Horseshoe Curve is situated near the town of Altoona in Pennsylvania, on a line originally constructed by the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR), and has echoed to the thunder of heavy freight trains ever since its completion in 1854. It offers the spectacle for railroad engineers – and lucky passengers – of being able to watch the rear of their train making its way along one side of the curve as the locomotives lead the train up the other side, the middle of the train running around the tight 637-foot radius curve at the top of the lake.

The Horseshoe Curve for Train Simulator 2012 is the first add-on to fully utilise all the new features in RW3: Train Simulator 2012. It accurately recreates not only the famous curve, but also many more miles of the line as it continues along to Cresson and Johnstown. Complete with appropriate PRR locomotives and rolling stock, the Horseshoe Curve also includes scenarios for players to work through in which unexpected events unfold and allow the player to rise through the ranks of their fellow engineers.

TS2012 was updated last night, you should now be running v7.1a. If not, make sure you log on to Steam online to download the latest version. Updates include:
‘PhysX Failed To Initialise' when SSE not present (AthlonXP CPU) now sorted
Screenshots no longer ‘whispy’ when TSX turned off
AI, player, particles and camera updates are synchronised
FPS limit at 30 and 60 offered as command line options on the ‘Settings’ tab to help smooth performance
Punch-through on Horseshoe Curve gantries when TSX turned off sorted
Crawling AI from scenario editor issues sorted
Added OnCameraEnter and OnCameraLeave for engine/wagon scripts
Depth of Field no longer turned on after losing full screen
SD40-2 sits better on the rails
Gaps had appeared in the Class 55 cab - now sorted.

Hoe zit het eigenlijk met Steam.
Kun je Railworks via Steam zo vaak installeren als je wilt?
Want soms zie je ook websites, dat als je een download hebt gekocht, dat dit .... keer gedownload kan worden.

Ja, zo vaak als je wilt en op zoveel computers als je wilt. Echter kan je maar op één locatie tegelijk ingelogd zijn met je account. Het spel zit dus aan jouw account gekoppeld.

Dat is weer een ander onderdeel van de beveiliging, die e-mails. Als je inlogt op een nog onbekende locatie moet je dus zo'n code invoeren (kan je echter uitzetten), waarbij de gedachte er achter is dat als jouw accountgegevens op straat komen te liggen, ze er nog niets mee kunnen omdat ze die code nodig hebben om in te loggen.
